What is Beltane?
Beltane is one of the four traditional cross-quarter festivals. These fall midway between the solstice and equinox points and mark the “height” of the seasons. During these times, around the world you’ll often find celebrations that honor the Sun’s many gifts -- fire, light, warmth, protection, purification & prophecy.
In the northern hemisphere, the Spring Festival occurs when the Sun enters Taurus. And so it’s fitting then that Taurus’ ruler Venus presides over the festival, too. Revelers rejoice the love goddess’ favorite things -- beauty, pleasure, flowers, fertility & new life.
