Now let’s get into what sets the 2023 Aries Season apart from those in other years.

As this Aries season begins, the Sun’s striding through the sign of the Ram with breezy Mercury (and a buoyant Jupiter hanging out across the room.) It’s a positive combination for putting your plans into action. Entrepreneurs, content creators and communicators may especially enjoy the free-wheeling energy. People will be looking to make a deal (just keep your common sense, if it’s too good to be true, it probably is.)

The Moon sets the emotional tone of the season, this Aries season the Moon’s feeling a little over sensitive and muddle-headed in Pisces. Don’t allow your imagination to get the better of you. But, as has been the case for the past six months, the Moon’s been in its waning crescent phase during every ingress. It’s as if the Moon’s wrapping up old business. She’s saying goodbye to the old, putting things into perspective, and preparing to write a new story.

Aries’ ruler Mars is finishing up his long sojourn through Gemini. Alas the season begins, Mars squares off with Neptune in Pisces for the third time in the past few months. It’s a final reminder than, although a positive attitude can increase your life-force, energy is still not an infinite commodity. Push too hard, and burnout is often the result. Use what you have wisely for what’s most important to you.

Perhaps the most unusual thing happening this Aires season is the entrance of Pluto into Aquarius. Pluto in Aquarius begins a 30-year meditation on the role our ideology and structuring beliefs plays in our perception and experience of reality. Over the next decades we’ll be forced to face – for good or ill – how the technology’s algorithms, social media memes, and even AI will change how we move through the world. Pluto has a habit of creating events that expose the underbelly of complex and shadowy issues. Over the next few months, we’re just scratching the surface.

Best Approach to Aries 2023

What does all of this suggest about your best approach this Aries season? It’s a mixed bag. On one hand, there’s a lot of positive vibes and desire to move in new directions. On the other hand, our well of inner resources may not be as deep as we’d like it to be.

Pursue your dreams, definitely. But you may want to leave a little room for down time, confusion, and reflection. Something new is about to be born, and it may detour even the best laid plans.

I've always found that anything worth achieving will always have obstacles in the way and you've got to have that drive and determination to overcome those obstacles on route to whatever it is that you want to accomplish.
