Scorpio Horoscope 2022

Scorpio, that's deep, right? If you love the season's intensity, you definitely won't be disappointed this month...

Each year, thanks to an ever-moving sky, Zodiac signs manifest a little differently. So, let’s dive into the astrological energies that set the 2022 Scorpio Season apart from other years.

If you want to learn more about what the Zodiac sign Scorpio means in general, check out my post on how to Make the Most of Scorpio Season.

This year, the Sun enters Scorpio on Oct. 23, 2022, at 5:35 am CST and remains there until Nov. 22, 2022, at 2:21 am CST. Here's the solar chart for the 2022 Scorpio ingress:

2022 Scorpio Ingress Astrological Data

  • Sun’s Zodiac Sign: Scorpio

  •  Aspects to the Sun: Sun conjunct Venus

  •  Location of Sign Ruler: Mars in Gemini

  •  Aspects to the Sign Ruler: Mars square Neptune in Pisces, Mars stationing retrograde

  •  Location of the Moon: Libra

  •  Aspects to the Moon: None

  •  Important Upcoming Aspects this month: Solar & Lunar Eclipses, Mars Retro square Neptune Retro, Saturn square Uranus

The 2022 Scorpio season opens with the Sun conjunct the love goddess Venus. Usually, a Sun-Venus meetup is a pleasant event; its main danger is from overindulgence. But in this case, Venus is in detriment in Scorpio. Desires may be darker and edgier as the lines between pleasure and pain get a little blurry.

Scorpio’s ruler Mars has slowed to a crawl as he prepares to begin his retrograde in Gemini just a week after the Sun enters Scorpio. Mars is high overhead (out of bounds) and especially bright in the early morning hours before sunrise, an ancient omen of challenging days ahead. Short tempers may lead to harsh words and many apologies over the next few months before Mars turns direct on Jan. 12, 2023. Since Mars is retrograde over the holiday season, you may want to keep holiday conversations simple to avoid miscommunications.

Mars is also squaring off several times with dreamy Neptune during this retrograde. Mars is energy, and Neptune fizzles such things. So you may find even your best intentions get delayed for want of a nap. Give yourself extra time, because many things may take even longer than you think they should.

At the start of Scorpio season, the Moon happens to be traveling through Libra, where it’s feeling breezy and congenial. But it is a dark Moon (a waning crescent); months that begin with a dark Moon may seem more internal than most. You may feel like it’s a month to wrap things up and move on.

By far the biggest news of the month are the pair of eclipses coming soon -- a new Moon partial solar eclipse on Oct. 25, and a full moon total lunar eclipse on Nov. 8. Of the two, the lunar eclipse is especially potent, with the Moon conjunct Uranus and square Saturn. The forces of change collect with those who want things to remain the same. It may feel like there’s no way out at the moment. But that’s the point, sometimes the time isn’t right to move forward yet. Continue to do the clean up work. Let go of your grudges. When things clear up, you’ll be free to move forward with a much lighter load.

Best Approach to Scorpio 2022

Your best approach this Scorpio season? My advice is very similar to last month. Scale back, make some space for reflection. If you’re feeling especially tired, know that your deeper self is hard at work processing your subconscious, Shadow energies -- this kind of work just takes time and patience. You’ll find your energy bounces back more quickly if you stop trying to pretend its business as usual. Take time out to reflect.
