2024 Pisces New Moon

Ah, peaceful Pisces... pop astrology counsels kicking back, watching the clouds, and going with the flow. But sometimes the stars align in ways that derail even the dreamiest plans. That's certainly true under the influence of the 2024 Pisces New Moon.

About the New Moon in Pisces

The annual Pisces New Moon occurs between Feb. 19 and March 20. From the point of view of the Northern Hemisphere, the long winter is over and spring is on the way. Snow thaws, warm air creates fog, In the damp earth, new life stirs.

Still, there’s something ephemeral about this time, like the vivid, rambling dreams at the end of the night. Pisces is Jupiter’s nocturnal abode, which suggests this nebulous, no-edges atmosphere is the ideal moment for divine connections -- and delusions.

And so, like the two fishes swimming in opposite directions which represent it, the Pisces New Moon can be a time of contradictions. On one hand, it bodes well for inspirational dreams and visions that lead us toward self-transcendence. On the other hand, delusions of grandeur and other wish-fulfilling fantasies can lead to self-undoing.

The secret to success under a Pisces New Moon? Cultivate a rare combination of faith and discernment. Faith is the trust that things often turn out for the good, discernment is doing our part to make the best decisions with as much awareness as we can muster. It’s not an easy road to walk; the signs are not black and white. But it is an opportunity to learn how to align your head, heart and intuition, so even though each perspective is limited, together they can add up to something greater than any of the parts.

2024 Pisces New Moon Horoscope

The March 2024 New Moon is moving faster than usual since it occurs near its closest approach to Earth. Tides run higher, and so does our need to get moving. Going with your gut just feels right, and you may want to follow it (even if it’s you look back and discover it wasn’t the best move after all.) When in doubt, get a second opinion from a trusted friend with a more objective point of view.

This New Moon is flirting with an iconoclastic Uranus in Taurus. Uranus likes to shake up the status quo so we don’t get too set in our ways. Above all, Uranus seeks the freedom for soul-centered self-expression, even if it means upsetting our cozy nest to do it. If there’s change you’ve been itching to make, this New Moon may be the kick in the pants you need to get moving.

Pisces’ ruler Jupiter usually wants us to connect to our loftier impulses. He gravitates toward truth, justice and integrity. But when he’s traveling through Taurus, he’s more easily distracted by life’s sensual pleasures. In other words, he may be more concerned with feeling good than being good.

However, at the lunation, Jupiter is working overtime to counsel Saturn, who is also wading through Pisces. Saturn likes to feel grounded, pragmatic and structured, all things that may feel strange to unbounded Pisces. Jupiter’s whispering hints about how to make the most of his time in Pisces. Top on his list? Make time for your spiritual practice; there’s no better remedy for what ails you than to plug into your Source, however you define that. Just don’t make feel like work; relaxing and smelling the roses may be the most potent practice of all.

There’s another tool in your kit. The 2024 Pisces New Moon falls in the 28th Lunar mansion, Al Batn al Hut. I nicknamed it the Fish. Its energy is ideal for gathering riches and resources. Decide what you need to take the next steps for your soul’s growth, wish upon the Moon, and believe the Magic will follow.

In other news, nothing is retrograde right now, so there’s less encouragement to think before leaping into action. That can be good if you’ve been feeling stuck lately. Or, you may discover you are in over your head. Your best solution? Either keep an eye on what’s important to you. If you use that as your guiding star, you’ll be able to find your way through no matter what life throws at you.

One final interesting observation. Right now, no planets possess essential dignity – that’s the power granted to planets because of the signs the planets are located in. In other words, all the planets lack “oomph” to make waves in the physical world. If you feel like nothing is getting done, or no one is responding to your requests, that may be a reflection of this odd pattern. The thing is, there’s not much to be done until the planets shift to other signs. Practice patience.

Best Approach to 2024 Pisces New Moon

So, what do you get when you consider all those bits? The restless urge to make changes may carry over from last month, with one big difference. This time, you’re more likely to find yourself remaining on the couch, rather than jumping into action.

That’s not the end of the world, though. After all, it’s not the best New Moon for making new intentions. Given that eclipse season begins with the next lunation, you may find it’s wiser to turn your attention to self-care or to putting things in order. Turn the energy for action toward cleaning up and finishing what’s already in progress, and you’ll feel a lot better moving forward.
