"Trust the tides" could be Pisces' mantra. Its vast waters wash away rigid ego-boundaries, revealing the deeper unity of all things. Pisces lessons teach empathy and surrender, as well as letting go to find true wholeness.
You'll need those lessons more than ever in this year's Pisces experience. Since you probably can't take a month-long retreat, read on to find out how you can navigate the Pisces 2025 energies with graceful surrender.

Sun in Pisces Forecast 2025
There’s water, water everywhere. The Sun’s throwing a pool party in Pisces; Mercury, Saturn and Neptune have taken the plunge. The Moon and Mars are also swimming in signs. That places 6 of 10 “planets” in water signs. That makes the tone of Pisces season especially emotional and feeling oriented. It’s energy best suited to resting, dreaming, socializing or experiencing, rather than organizing or achieving.
Most of the planets are also out-of sorts as the season opens. The Moon is in fall, Mercury in detriment and fall, Venus in detriment, Mars in fall and Jupiter in detriment. (That’s 5 out of 7). That makes this an extremely complicated time for new “births” – what embodies this moment in time will face many struggles to re-define all the usual rules. On the other hand, many norms and expectations need challenging before we can build something truly new and creative. We need our world-turned-upside-down to give birth to something new.
Let’s take a closer look…
Brain fog? Or expansive creativity? Either can be Mercury’s companion while he’s swimming with the fishes. Thoughts may be scattered and disorganized, leading to miscommunications and confusion, but also serendipitous new connections. To get the best from Mercury when he’s in the sign of his detriment and fall, you’ve got to reduce your expectations and grant him plenty of space to explore. Try suggestions and prompts, rather than deadlines.
Saturn likes it best when things are grounded, practical, even predictable. However, watery Pisces is much like the ocean; it’s wide, vast, and difficult to pin down. So Saturn’s learning the power of embracing the present moment and finding his center deep within. As the Sun approaches Saturn over the next weeks, you may find yourself feeling the burdens of responsibility or limitations a little more than usual. If so, remember it will pass quickly enough, just focus on the next step and you’ll get through just fine.
Of course, Neptune, lord of the sea, feels perfectly at home in oceanic Pisces. But he’s only got six weeks left before he begins a new adventure in Aries. Like the hour before dawn, he’s caught in his dreams of what’s to come. It’s a good time to reflect on your own visions. If you had a magic wand, what would you create for yourself?
Jupiter rules over the Pisces Sun. Jupiter's days are also numbered for his time in scattered Gemini. Jupiter prefers to have a purpose, a mission or a cause. While he’s in Gemini he may feel overwhelmed by the options. But, since he’s adept at finding the silver lining in all things, he’s celebrating the possibilities of the moment. (And, of course, looking forward to his upcoming exaltation in Cancer, coming soon in June.)
Jupiter is in what astrologers call a mutual reception with Gemini’s ruler Mercury. The two can, theoretically, help one another find the best notes of their Zodiac signs. However, given that both planets find their places uncomfortable, this is no easy task. It’s like asking a friend who is equally stressed out to give you a hand. Still, sometimes it’s nice to have a break from your own drama and maybe share a good laugh about the state you are in.
In another watery twist, Pisces season opens with a suspicious Moon in Scorpio. The Moon sets the emotional tone of the season; while it’s in Scorpio, some may feel a vague dread hanging in the air. Scorpio is a place of intense passions and hidden depths, things that cause some pause for the security-loving Moon.
Scorpio’s ruler Mars ordinarily lends the Moon some of its bravery. But Mars has got his own “it’s complicated” sign hanging on the door right now. Mars is in Cancer, the Moon’s sign, so the two planets are trading spaces. But Mars is also slowing to a standstill to finish his retrograde, he’s out of bounds, and he’s in fall – a trifecta that make him as unwilling to follow the rules as he can be. Given his state, he’s unlikely to help anyone but himself. His counsel to the Moon won’t be gentle self-care platitudes, but “suck it up, buttercup.” And, let’s face it, a little tough love is sometimes good medicine.
Best Approach to Pisces Season 2025
All in all, this is no easy Pisces season. It’s a complicated mix of upside-down energies that offer no easy path through. In a perfect world, you might want to head to the monastery for a month-long retreat to prepare yourself for the next stage in your life. Given that’s not an option for most folks in a modern world, embrace the moment with patience and compassion. Change is here; but the soft squishy bits of us can have a tough time with it. As you plant your seeds in the moist earth, you need to allow them to do their own thing in the dark for them to thrive in the future. Let go of your need to be in control of things.
"I'm interested when things are upside down - because there are so many possibilities in that one moment. There is a lot that is exposed."
