Sun in Sagittarius Forecast 2024

As Sagittarius season opens, it may feel like walking through a nebulous dream world. None of them have what astrologers call “essential dignity,” which is like their power to make a lasting mark on the 3D world. It may be more difficult than usual to find direction, or actions may feel especially ineffective and futile. It’s a situation that makes spellcasting less potent, as well as any other activity that requires giving birth. Such moments are temporary but never comfortable.

The Sagittarius Sun is engrossed in conversation with Mars in Leo and Pluto, newly returned to Aquarius. Mars in Leo is hot on so many levels. His passions are fired up, as is his temper. Here Mars’ reveals more in recognition than accomplishments; applause is like fuel for his fire. Mars enflames Sagittarius' zealotry and mission.

Pluto in Aquarius throws shade on this volatile combination. Pluto in an air sign exposes the darker sides of ideology, artificial intelligence and “the algorithm.” The zeal to “purge” is stoked, as is a willingness to deal with shame and other power dynamics. Mars opposite Pluto is an especially difficult combination, as it dredges up our existential fears from our collective Shadow.

Switching gears, the mood of a season is set by the Moon. Feeling warm and frisky in Leo, the Moon encourages the Sagitarian’s Sun’s urge to boldly go someplace fun and in the spotlight. This pairing is action-oriented, damn the consequences.

The Moon is in an easy-going alignment with Sagittarius’ ruling planet Jupiter, which is is pulling strings from his uncomfortable perch in Gemini. Jupiter wants to uplift us, to help us find the Truth and connect to something larger than ourselves. But in Mercury-ruled Gemini, everything feels relative. Jupiter’s frustrated lament: “if it’s all good, how does anyone know the “One-True-Way?”

The Moon also harmonizes with Mercury, which is hanging out with the Sun Sagittarius Mercury’s gifts may be more of a burden than a blessing in this Jupiter-ruled sign. Why? Well, in Sagittarius planets want to discover the Truth, with a capital T. Mercury, however, is much more comfortable with the notion that there are many, many kinds of truth. The result can be overthinking, over-sharing or over-talking – all things that can impede your quest. Making it even more difficult, Mercury is also out of bounds (and approaching the next retrograde); the winged messenger isn’t interested in following any rules. So, if you find you are running in circles mentally or physically, remember that less is often more. Drop a few things, and try again.

And, a close reading of above and you’ll have realized Mercury and Jupiter are in each other’s favorite places, or what astrologers call a “mutual reception.” Ordinarily, this would make their stays a little easier. However, in this case, since both planets are in detriment, it may be more like a “mutual deception,” in which the baser instincts of both planets are encouraged. Think demagoguery run amok, with little regard for things beyond one’s own worldview.

In other celestial news, lovely Venus in Capricorn is also in an easy-going alignment with dour Saturn in Pisces. Venus in Capricorn likes her pleasures earthy and pragmatic (“diamonds are a girl’s best friend” is a Venus-in-Capricorn sentiment). She can be very strategic in fulfilling her desires with the help of Saturn, more than willing to wait until the time is right to find fulfillment. If there’s any secret weapon to fulfilling your desires, it’s patience. Just know, Venus is also out-of-bounds, too, which can lead to some unusual ideas about what is “satisfying.” Keep it weird.

Best Approach to Sagittarius Season 2024

And this is probably your best approach to the whole season: Just wait and see before you act. The combination of fiery Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars will inspire impulsive action. But that “go with your gut” philosophy often results in a laundry list of unintended consequences. If things are moving and you’re trying to figure out the best way through, consider resisting your first impulse until you’ve gained some clarity. But, on the other hand, if “something different” is what you want, by all means, move fast and break a lot of things.
