Shadow work, slow growth, and the strange beauty of Taurus season 2025

“Slow down and savor” is the perennial wisdom of Taurus season. But in 2025, the invitation to root and rest comes with a twist. While Earth-sign Taurus coaxes us toward beauty, comfort, and consistency, the skies above suggest something more complex is unfolding beneath the surface.

This year’s Taurus Sun arrives amidst tension, transformation, and a Moon that’s wandering far from home. We’re called not just to enjoy the moment—but to meet it fully. With Venus exalted in Pisces,Uranus nearing the end of its long stay in Taurus, and a tense tug-of-war between Mars and Pluto, we’re balancing tenderness with radical shifts, devotion with disruption.

So, what makes Taurus season 2025 different from other years? Let’s take a look at the celestial weather shaping this next chapter of Sacred Time.

Sun in Taurus Forecast 2025

As the 2025 Taurus season begins, the Sun is caught in an awkward tug-of-war between Mars in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius. Mars in Leo craves bold action and plenty of attention, while Pluto is more than happy to shove his Shadow Side in his face; it’s an old argument that narcissism and selfishness (Leo) aren’t always collective goods (Aquarius).

Rather than being all bad, however, it might be a sign that deep, shadowy bits of the psyche are stepping up for recognition and healing. Given that eclipse season just passed, it's a not-so-gentle reminder that your Shadow work is never done. Knowing yourself and owning up to who you are on all levels is the work of a lifetime. Make it a part of your daily life, and you’ll make slow but steady progress.

Taurus’ ruler, Venus, is gliding through Pisces. For Venus, Pisces is usually like a posh seaside spa; all her needs are met without her having to lift a finger. In this case, serious Saturn is her travel companion, so her overindulgences are kept in check. But she’s also doing her best to keep Saturn from being too grim, it’s a good combo for keeping your appetites in the balanced “just right” zone.

This odd couple is also sexitle Uranus in Taurus, a sign that Venus “owns.” As Taurus finishes up his 7-year Taurus adventure in the earthy sign, he’s reviewing what he’s learned: That innovation without grounding is just a clever idea.(Only time will tell how much of this wisdom remains once he moves into the Gemini playground.)

As always, it’s the Moon that sets the mood for the season. Luna finds herself in an awkward position in Capricorn, where she’s less-than-cozy (aka in detriment). Not only is she acting outside her comfort zone, but she’s also making no aspects with other planets and straying wildly out of bounds. It’s a sign of a deep desire to do your own thing regardless of the cost. If there are projects you need to “delay gratification” to achieve, the Moon might be able to help out here.

Best Approach to Taurus 2025

So, where does this leave us? Taurus wants us to stop and smell the roses, and Venus is trying her best to deliver on this promise. But given the fracas being stirred up by Mars and Pluto, it’s hard to imagine we won’t be able to ignore all the thorns. Slow and steady is still your best philosophy.

If you’re feeling anger bubble up in you, just remember anger is often about needing to set some healthy boundaries (or get you moving to get out of the situation.) And, if you find the anger is directed at you, go slowly with that, too. There may be lots of “projection” going on, but no one wants to be told, “You’re just projecting.” It may be better to de-escalate the situation by just listening or, if necessary, getting out of the way entirely.

"Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned."
