Virgo Horoscope 2024
Aug 18, 2024
The urge to get to work in the world *for reals* ushers in Virgo season. Sure, the grain goddess wants to understand best times to plant and sow in order to reap an abundant harvest. As long as she remembers its a process of "continuous quality improvement," all's well in her world. (When she forgets, beware the perfectionist princess.)
But (gasp!), there's no such thing as a perfect Virgo season. In fact, each one is a little different. As the world gets more complex and chaotic, this Virgo season can remind you to keep things simple to make it through with as much grace as possible.

Sun in Virgo Forecast 2024
Now let’s get into what sets this Virgo Season apart from those in other years.
During this Virgo season, the Sun is feeling independent; he makes no close aspects with other planets. He does share Virgo with Venus, who’s shining brightly as as evening star. Venus isn’t entirely at ease in Virgo. Here she’s a bit like the princess and the pea; there’s always something that feels out of place (and the related desire to make it better.)
The same goes for the Moon. She makes no aspects either while coasting through free-thinking Aries. An Aries Moon hungers to chart her course, regardless of what others may think or say. She rewards the brave and the bold, which adds an exclamation point (!) to the season’s vibe.
Virgo’s ruler Mercury is in Leo, where it is aligned with feisty Mars in chatty Gemini. But the divine messenger is retrograde, too, which makes for a complicated mix of meanings. A fiery Mercury is usually brazen and fast-talking, but the retrograde injects caution and second-guessing into the mix. Mercury’s also making what astrologers call a mutual reception with the Sun. At best, Mercury in Leo reminds the Sun of its divine essence, while Virgo reminds Mercury of the need to keep it real to remain effective in a three-dimensional world. At worst, nitpicking and grievance take center stage, to the detriment of all within hearing distance.
Seizing the microphone this season is the first of three Jupiter-Saturn square-offs. The last time these two slow-moving powerhouses met up was in December 2020, for their Great Conjunction in Aquarius that marked the beginning of a 20-year cycle exploring the contest between vision and ideals, and how to manifest them. As they meet up at the first quarter, it’s like a midterm exam to see how much they’ve learned along the way. Jupiter in Gemini is eager to explore a world of endless possibilities, while Saturn in Pisces struggles to finish its center when the world feels like it’s dissolving around him. It’s a clash of the age-old themes of hope vs. fear in times of accelerated change.
Best Approach to Virgo Season 2024
Taken together, these aspects combine to make this Virgo season much more complex than most. On a global level, it’s a time of high drama and clashing ideologies. While each side is staking their claims, there’s not much interest in compromise or nuance.
How do we translate this to a more personal level? The balance falls more on doing your own thing, without worrying what others think about it. If you can give others the space to do so as well, that might provide the best you can hope for in this fired-up environment. If you start feeling anxious or overstimulated, take that as your cue to check out and keep things simple.
