The 2024 Aquarius Full Moon is caught up in a potent alignment astrologers call a fixed T-square with a confusing Mercury retrograde and an iconoclastic Uranus. Mercury’s sitting with the Sun in Leo; its usually warm and engaging, but given its retrograde status it’s more likely to dwell on the past than the future. And throwing his shoes in the machinery is rebellious Uranus in Taurus. Uranus is squaring off with both the Sun and the Moon, setting the stage for surprises and shocks that rattle the system. Cries for freedom are certainly ringing in heads and hearts.

Meanwhile, Aquarius ruler Saturn is still retrograding through Pisces. Saturn’s amid his three-year swim across Pisces, where he’s learning how to find stability through connecting to his center. He counsels mindfulness and all other paths for slowing down and paying attention to the present. A less skillful expression? Saturn clings to the past or what’s familiar to stay afloat amidst a fluid unknown.

And upping the stakes for this Full Moon, Saturn’s caught up in another energizing T-square, with Jupiter and Mars in Gemini, and Venus in Virgo. Mars in Gemini is ready to dive into a battle of words and ideas, while the sheer magnitude of possibilities blows away Jupiter. Together, they’re a potent pairing for inspiring new ideas and voices.

Venus in Virgo is another complex energy. Her desires are both earthy and feminine. But the darker side of the perils of perfectionism are on display too. Place Venus opposite dour Saturn struggling to find his footing, and you’ve got a recipe for tension, projection and grievance.  Add this to Mars-Jupiter in Gemini at the focal point of the mutable T-square, and you’ve got a high-energy constellation that can send any situation off in a new direction.
