We encounter the annual Scorpio Full Moon each year between April 20 and May 19. It’s known as the Flower Moon in honor of the blossoms unfurled under the final Full Moon of the Northern Hemisphere’s spring season.

All Full Moons are energy-charged moments, but the Scorpio Full Moon is one of the most intense of all. All things being equal, the Moon prefers to feel safe and comfortable. And these are things most definitely not associated with the Mars-ruled Zodiac sign Scorpio. That’s why the Moon is in “fall” in Scorpio.

2024 Scorpio Full Moon Horoscope

The big news? The Sun and Moon are both squaring off with under-worldly Pluto, forming what astrologers call a T-square. It’s as if a Shadow is hanging over their journey; fear and shame and guilt may simmer just below the surface. But Pluto can also herald and opportunity to dig deeper into those feelings so you can discover what really makes you tick. Confronting your inner darkness could be one of the most healing discussions you’ve ever had with yourself.

You might as well take your time, though. The Full Moon in Scorpio is moving slower than normal since it occurs near the furthest point from Earth in its orbit. It’s sometimes called a “Mircomoon,” since it appears smaller in the skies. This helps us to slow down. Be deliberate and reflective in your decisions and actions. It may also feel like things take longer to come to fruition; patience is your ally. Mercury retrograde is also slowing down fast to turn direct a few days after the Full Moon, another suggestion to take it slow this lunation.

Meanwhile, Scorpio’s ruler Mars is still slogging its way through Pisces. Mars governs our drive and ambition, watery Pisces keeps it cool but scattered. As Mars closes in on diffuse Neptune, some may also be struck with out-of-the-blue exhaustion. The best way to avoid overdoing it may be to keep turning into how you feel and follow your intuition.

Mars is also just days past its meetup with optimistic Jupiter and iconoclastic Uranus.
