Let’s start with the biggest news: a party is happening in Pisces. With the Sun and the Moon, plus Mercury, Saturn and Neptune, all hanging out in this watery sign, its mutable nature sways our subconscious. Things may feel hazy, confused or in flux – because they are! The lesson of the moment is non-attachment; whatever is happening now will not last forever. So let it go. The time to act will come soon enough.

The Sun and Moon square Jupiter, the traditional ruler of Pisces. Jupiter usually wants us to connect to our loftier impulses. He gravitates toward truth, justice and integrity. But when he’s traveling through Gemini, he’s definitely distracted by a plethora of options. At his worst, he’s railing agains diversity in his search for the One True Way. Still, Jupiter’s innate compassion and mercy tends to keep his harm to a minimum, at least in the long-term. In this case, he’ll be leaving Gemini for greener pastures in June; we’ll likely see him begin to change his tune soon.

The February 2025 New Moon is moving faster than usual since it is near its closest Earth approach. Tides run higher, and so does our need to get moving. Going with your gut just feels right, and you may want to follow it (even if you look back and discover it wasn’t the best move after all.) When in doubt, get a second opinion from a trusted friend with a more objective point of view.

There’s another tool in your kit. The this New Moon falls in the Lunar Zodiac sign aka Lunar Mansion 27 Al Fargh al Thani. I’ve nicknamed it the Water Wheel because it’s tied to the ebb and flow of fortune. It’s an ideal time for releasing prosperity blocks and opening to abundance. (Plus, it’s another checkmark in the “let it go” column.)

Though no longer retrograde, Mars is still soaring out of bounds in the sign of his fall. (He returns in bounds on Apr. 6 and re-enters Leo Apr. 18, in case you are counting the days.) This means the retrograde “shadow” is deeper and more lingering than in other years. The anger and passive aggression will likely linger for the next six weeks. Still, at the moment, Saturn’s doing his best to keep Mars’ worst impulses in check. Perhaps a little caution will serve you well, too.

A few awkward first dates are going on amongst the other planets. Mercury, dazed and confused in Pisces, is hanging out with iconoclastic Uranus in Taurus; it’s a recipe for utterly impractical ingenuity. Meanwhile, Venus in Aries hooks up with Jupiter in Gemini. Both planets are already out of sorts. Though their romance is doomed to fizzle, their hearts are probably in the right place. Just don’t expect the roses to last.

In other news, nothing is retrograde right now, so there’s less encouragement to think before leaping into action. That can be good if you’ve been feeling stuck lately. Or, you may discover you are in over your head. What is your best solution? Either keep an eye on what’s important to you.
