We encounter the annual Pisces Full Moon each year between Aug. 23 and Sept. 22. In the northern hemisphere, the Pisces Full Moon often does double duty as the Harvest Moon. Its long, slow rise along the eastern horizon extends bright light into the evening hours, allowing the crop harvest to continue well past sunset.

Pisces Full Moon 2025 Forecast

Let’s start with the obvious: this Full Moon is a total lunar eclipse. Lunar eclipses can herald potent turning points in our emotional lives. For all of us, it could mean a night of odd dreams or unsettled feelings. But, if you can stay safe and rooted, it’s an ideal moment for shadow work or to explore altered states of awareness. But beware of risky behavior; things could get weird very fast.

Total lunar eclipses are also called “blood moon” eclipses. That’s because at the height of the eclipse, the Moon’s disk turns a dusky red, the color of all the sunsets and sunrises on Earth at the moment. It’s also the second of three blood moons over the next 18 months; the first one was in March 2025 and the final one in March 2026. Given that it’s the strongest type of lunar eclipse, at the midpoint of its cycle, for some, it may feel like a harbinger of fated transitions, a time when the currents of change run too strong to resist.

This cycle of blood moons may feel more personal to those with planets in Virgo or Pisces; something passes away and something new is arriving. If you can make space for the change, it may bring you closer to your soul purpose. 

The “Lord of the Eclipse” is Jupiter, Pisces’ traditional ruling planet. Jupiter’s sailing through Cancer, where he’s learning that growth comes not from reaching outward, but by tending what lies closest to the heart. Its passage amplifies our yearning for emotional security and tribal ties. That’s because deep down, we understand that having a safe haven makes it much easier to pursue your spiritual practice. If you don’t feel like you have a spiritual family, perhaps it’s time to find one, or create one for yourself.

However, thanks to Jupiter’s square to an uncomfortable Mars in Libra, things aren’t that simple. Mars pushes growth through conflict, which is not what comfort-craving Cancer wants to hear. It could just as easily manifest as anger or impatience as a drive to chase your desires. Which one is often determined by what’s lingering in your subconscious. If you can witness without judgment, you may learn a lot about yourself. 

The Full Moon stands in a wide opposition to Mercury in Virgo, highlighting the tug-of-war between fantasy and fact. Pisces leans into intuition, dreams and subtle signals, while Virgo seeks clarity through logic, discernment and pragmatism. The paradox can make it harder to trust either instinct or analysis fully – words may blur with emotions and emotions may resist tidy explanations. Yet in the tension lies a chance to bridge head and heart, weaving practical insight with soulful knowing.

Underlying all of this is a rare and heady configuration linking Neptune in Aries, Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius. On the surface, it’s a gift: a high-voltage circuit of insight, innovation and idealism. But don’t be fooled by the easy flow. Retrogrades Neptune tests clarity while retrogradr Pluto and Uranus push for truly radical change. Whatever the situation, there’s no easy way out without doing the work for yourself.
